flyingcars

In the 80’s I thought it would take another five years before cars could fly. Finally my dream comes true: in 2012 the first flying cars will be on the road in The Netherlands. Aerodynamics, construction/weight, legislation, performance and fuel consumption have changed so much that the new Carfly is a fact! The Carver Pal-V One (bottom left) is an aerodynamic 3-wheel vehicle/helicopter. It flies below 1,200 meters, which – in most countries – is free space. It is highly fuel-efficient, runs on petrol and speeds of up to 185 km/h, both on land and in the air.

My new illustration for Mo’s story Part II. All rabbits fancied the wild hare long long time ago.

spreadpagesensis

I just finished the historical part for a magazine of the visually impaired and was allowed no italics, no type on images, no braille and no white space!

chanelpaper2

They still exist, it-bags. Preferrably in white, black or silver, according to feminine marketeers WeJane. My favorite: the Chanel paperbag in white leather, price € 980. What crisis?

dreigroschenoper1

I attended the première of Die Dreigroßchenoper, the famous 30′s opera by Bertold Brecht and componist Kurt Weill, directed by Robert Wilson. The stage is beautiful, the choreography hilarious and nice raw music (with funny sound effects). Wilson, a former architect, is heavy on ideas and lighter on emotion: the Otto Dix characters indicate – with exaggerated gestures – emotion rather than expressing felt emotion, just like Brecht meant it to be.

tulips1

The tulips fields around our town are in full bloom. Farmers cut the tulip blooms off as soon as the plant is vibrant. Cutting off the blooms pushes all of the energy into bulb propagation. Local children love to walk through the fields and pick the pariahs…Photo The Motor

emmy

This is what I want to do for years: to oilpaint on photoprinted canvas. At the left is a great example of that technique by Emmy Beenken (tipped by mestudio). Her macrophotos of existing postcards are nice too, but the painting gives it just that extra dreamy and personal touch….Emmy favours organizing things. To avoid dullness she disturbs the rasterized photos with patterns of dots.

I am thinking about buying that beautiful white Boretti barbeque. But for this weekend I just made one out of an old wheelbarrow: the T-bones were excellent!
