Case 03
FKG before/after |

| Client FKG Architecten aan de Zaan. Project Corporate Identity. Strategy Goos Geursen, De Bedrijvigheden. Design with Peter van Deursen. FKG is an architecture agency for social building in the northern part of Holland. Their ambition is to become well-known in The Netherlands.
concept |

| What is special about FKG buildings? How to improve the architecture in the near future?
strategy |

| Strategy The story of the brick. 1 When an architect noticed a boy shaking his towel to get rid off some grass, the roof of a new swimming pool was born. 2 A siamese twin school brings together children from different cultures.
sketches |

| We just turned the old logo 45 degrees so it becomes a text balloon (metaphor for story telling).
signs |

| Old and new construction sign.
2 divisions |

| The company was divided into twocompanies: the architects and the inspirors. The architects are located at the offices (NEAR the waterfront) and the inspirors moved to a boat (ON water).
brochures |

| FKG often competes with other architects. The corporate brochure is an important tool to win competitions. Buildings should enduce encounter & communication.

inspiration |

website |

| A daily blog about grand architecture on the homepage keeps the architects sharp. Projects have inviting titles like SMELL OF CACOA / THE WARF / GAS LEAK / POLDER LOVE. The research & development lab is focusing on structures and details.
outcome |

| One story by FKG, called Red Carpet. This client produces packaging that is visually attractive, using the highest state of the art technology. Their new building reflects that spirit with a beautiful façade and a smart construction inside. The neon logo really adds juice to the building. The slate pathway was the finishing touch.
