A swarm of pixels in a space

|MIT researchers developed a display system with flying pixels, in collaboration with ARES (Aerospace Robotics and Embedded Systems Laboratory). Click here to see Flyfire: a large number of self-organizing micro-helicopters with small LEDs that act as a smart pixel. Through precisely controlled movements, the helicopters perform synchronized motions that may transform a two-dimensional image into an articulated shape.
