Hollandse Heren – Dutch Gentlemen

milouhermus

|Last week I visited this show with my art school teacher, who painted 18 well-known Dutch men, dressed in just a white tank top; a direct style which for centuries characterised Dutch portraiture, the subject painted straightforward, nothing more, nothing less. We sat down and listened to the comments of visitors. The guy at the left is Paul Mijksenaar, designer of all signage at Schiphol Airport. At the right is 91-year-old Henk Schueler, who skated the famous ‘Elfstedentocht’ for seven times! Art Milou Hermus Exhibition Kunsthal, Rotterdam until April 26, 2015
