What a great project, being asked to really question a car, and not just by pimping it. BMW’s head of design Adrian van Hooydonk invited Stefan Scholten and Carole Baijings for a fresh look at the iconic and fashionable Mini. They analyzed the car in a conceptual way, questioning every aspect of it, so to find the essence of every detail, like fluorescent bumpers that catch the eye immediately. The outer shell has a porcelain lacquer and is perforated to create an organic system of ventilation and to experience fragrance from the sides of the road, influencing and enhancing driving pleasure.Â
Color One is on display at Salone del Mobile until April 28.Â
